Inside the dining hall, Sky and Adam were circling each other, like a a pair of lions about to pounce each other for an attack. Adam was the first to move, dashing towards the silver-haired boy. Sky parries his thrust with the blade attachment of his pistol, then punches him straight across the face, before doing a backflip kick. Adam staggers a bit before engaging again, his quick strikes and slashes being dodged and evaded by Sky, before he was able to time his attack correctly and catch his hand. He yanks it forward, sweeps him off his feet, then does an inhumanly-quick jump back kick, which sends him off at the end of the dining hall, crashing himself against a pile of tables. Adam slowly recovers from the pile as he dusts himself, then they began encircling each other again.
I'll admit, you've proven to be a worthy opponent for a filthy hybrid. I should've expected much more from The Great
Was that a compliment or a ridicule?Adam:
Who cares? Your superiority in speed won't be enough to stop me.
Are you even listening to yourself? Your war between human and Faunus has gone too far enough, and I'm ending it here now by defeating you. Right here, right now. I'm giving you a second chance, Adam: Surrender, and you might as well save yourself from a life-sentenced jail cell in Atlas.Adam:
Over my dead body, filthy hybrid.
Sky shook his head disappointingly, before he raised his pistol at him.Sky:
You've had your chance.....
As he finished his sentence, he activates the pistol in its melee form. The grip straightened out as the rest of the blade unfolds outwards, while the barrel compacts into itself until Sky finally wields a full-length sword of his own, longer than his own arm and still possessing a curved-shape neat the end. As they dash at each other, flashes of silver and red were emanated as their weapons clash against each other.
After a clash, they were both knocked back. Adam shoots a couple of rounds towards Sky, who deflects them all by moving at superhuman speed, and then darts forward and delivers a series of slashes at Adam, who was unable to keep up with the speed to block them. Sky loads a magazine into his sword, and fires a round and uses the momentum to knock Adam's sword away, and giving him a roundhouse kick straight in the chest, launching him back, laying flat on his stomach. Before he could even have the chance to recover, Sky kicks him in the head, but was not enough to knock him out unconscious.Sky:
Your so-called philosophy, stops now.
Just before he could deliver the killing bow, several movements catches his attention. He turns to see an armada of White Fang with their guns raised against him. He flips forward in time to evade the bullets that was being fired upon him before taking cover in one of the long dining tables.Adam:
STOP! He's mine.
He ordered hi men to stand down as he picks up his sword and slowly advances towards the table Sky was hiding at. Outnumbered and outgunned, Sky only knew one solution to this situation: Withdraw. Having no more regrets, Sky quickly leaves the dining hall in a flash, leaving trails of silver light as he does. As Adam came close upon the table, not knowing his opponent had already left, he slashes the table in half and finds it empty. Adam:
In due time, Frostydia. We'll meet again. Withdraw the rest of you! Our business here is done.
Meanwhile, you were flying as quickly as you could in your snow form, which was slowly consuming your Aura, towards the academy until you were able to see the exterior of Beacon Tower, out of it came Jaune and Pyrrha, who was carrying Sky's weapon. Pyrrha noticed your snow flurry and poked Jaune's shoulder to gain his attention towards you. When you were in reach, you reverted back to your normal form. Out of exhaustion, you staggered forwards and your knees met the ground. Pyrrha and Jaune helped you up as you recovered. You:
Wh-What... are you two doing in there?Jaune:
I don't know what happened that there was this machine that they put Pyrrha into, there was a girl inside one of them. Then there was this woman with fire powers. One thing I know is that wasn't a Semblance. And Professor Ozpin is still down there!
Realizing what he had just said, you charged through Pyrrha and Jaune, before they could even stop from entering the tower. Upon arriving down the vault, a bright light engulfs the entire place, forcing you to avert your eyes from the light. When it died down, you saw your uncle's cane, with its owner nowhere to be found, and the woman Jaune was talking about, who you instantly recognized as a competitor on the same team as Emerald and Mercury.
When Cinder heard you call out her name, she turns towards you and smirks evilly when she recognizes you as well for some reason.Cinder: So, we meet again, Keeper of the Winter Maiden's power: (F/N) (L/N). I still remember that night you showed me that mark on your hand.
You..... You were the one Ruby and I confronted the night you infiltrated this tower.....
When you realized what she did to your uncle, you no longer cared as you were now fueled by revenge by your uncle's presumed death. As your eyes glowed intensely, you suddenly unleashed the power of the Winter Maiden, releasing a great force.Cinder:
So this is the famed might of the Winter Maiden. Such overflowing power inside a boy. Interesting......You:
Enough games. You'll suffer for what you have done.
You said, your voice distorting as if five voices of you were speaking at the same time, and then you charged at her in your Maiden Form. Meanwhile, Jaune and Pyrrha hears the rumble beneath them, which was you and Cinder still currently battling against each other as you both flew to the top, and stare at the tower in surprise, as they assumed that you were now facing the current Fall Maiden, with Jaune deducing that Ozpin has fallen.Pyrrha: There's no time......
She then gives him Sky's weapons, quickly adopting a determined tone.Pyrrha: Go. Get to Vale and call for help. And give Sky his weapons back.Jaune: Huh? What are you gonna do?
Pyrrha slowly turns her head to stare up at the top of Beacon Tower. Following her gaze, Jaune realizes what she plans to do.
Jaune: No... no, Pyrrha, you can't. You saw how powerful she is!
Pyrrha: But we can't just leave (Y/N) in there!
Jaune: You saw what he did to the Nevermores back in the Coliseum, Pyrrha! He's the only one that can do this!
Pyrrha: But you saw how weakened he was when he got here!
Jaune: Pyrrha, I won't let you do-
Suddenly, Pyrrha grabs Jaune's head in both hands and silences him with a long kiss on the lips. After a moment of hesitation, he gently pulls her in and returns the kiss, while Pyrrha slightly raises her foot behind her. She then pulls away, ending the kiss, and stares into his eyes, one hand on his cheek and the other on his chest.
Pyrrha: I'm sorry.
She then uses her Semblance on his armor, pushing him directly into a nearby locker, which slams shut from the impact.
Jaune: Hey! Wait! Stop, stop! Pyrrha, please don't do this!
While Jaune pleads, Pyrrha walks over to the locker and begins typing coordinates into it. She looks him in the eyes one last time, before stepping back and watching the locker fly away. Once it vanishes into the distance, she clenches her fists and, once again, adopts a determined demeanor as she walks toward the tower.
Pyrrha: (In head) Just hold on for a bit longer, (Y/N).
Once she steps through the entrance, she runs to the nearest elevator and uses her Semblance to force the doors open. Inside, she finds that Cinder has left a large hole in the floor and roof of the elevator on her way up. Pyrrha steps inside the elevator, closes her eyes, and begins mustering all of her strength. The elevator begins shaking. She focuses even harder, straining herself, until the elevator begins a quick ascent toward the top.
Out to the docks outside of Beacon, air buses are seen picking up the last few civilians and students, with Professors Port and Oobleck, who have survived the onslaught back in the Coliseum, oversee the evacuation.
Port: That's it! Everybody on board! This is a mandatory evacuation!
Oobleck: A safe zone has been established in Vale! Please, remain calm and listen to Atlas personnel!
Weiss stares at what is in front of her, in disbelief. AsRuby comes running down the path, Zwei barks to alert Weiss to her leader's presence, and Weiss turns around to greet her.
Ruby: Oh, I found you!
Weiss: Ruby, where have you and (Y/--
Ruby: Don't worry, I'm fine! What's going on? Is (Y/N) here?
Unsure of what to say, Weiss lowers her gaze sadly.
Ruby: Weiss? What is it?
Weiss steps aside, giving Ruby a clear view of Claire, who has lost a lot of blood from her bleeding arm, Blake and Yang lying on the ground. All have bandages wrapped around their wounds, and the latter is unconscious. Behind them sit Nora and Ren, with Tealle who is hugging her knees as she wants bad things to "Go away", her tail covered in bandages, who are too battered and bruised to fight. Your twin sisters, Tasha and Zella are with them as well as they try keeping everyone else stable and calm as possible Sky was standing behind the injured group, as students and people stare at him negatively for some reason. He just shrugs it off while hanging his head low. Blake then reaches over and places her hand on Yang's.
Blake: I'm sorry.
Ruby reaches out and opens her mouth to say something, but in her emotional state, she doesn't know what to say. Blake turns to Tealle and Claire before she curls up, closing her eyes.
Blake: I'm so sorry.
Sun: Hey. She's gonna be okay. The soldiers have a ship ready to take you guys to Vale.
Nora: But (Y/N), Jaune and Pyrrha are still missing.
Nora attempts to stand, but she quickly sits back down, groaning and holding her side.
Ruby: What!? I thought (Y/N) already got here!
Sun: Look, guys, that giant Grimm is circling the school! Even the White Fang are pulling out! We all have to go, now!
Ren: We're not... leaving!
He stands up, but then falls to his knees as he grunts in pain. Sun turns and casts a worried look at Tealle and Blake.
Ruby: I'll find them... I'll find them, and I'll bring them back.
Weiss: No! We will find them. Watch after Blake and Yang. We'll be back.
Sky: I'm coming with you.
Weiss: Are you sure?
Sky: I don't have much of a choice, is there?
With that Sky, Ruby and Weiss run back toward Beacon, while Sun watches them go.
Sun: You better be! Idiots.
As they run towards the Academy, Weiss suddenly receives a call from her Scroll.
Jaune: Weiss! Please, you have to stop them!
Jaune: Pyrrha! She's going after that woman at the top of the tower! She doesn't stand a chance! (Y/N) already went in before her, and he's using that power we saw back at the Coliseum, but he looked weakened when he got there.
Weiss: Jaune, what are you talking about!? Where are you?
Jaune: Don't worry about me! ....... Please, you have to save Pyrrha.
Weiss: We will. Are you okay?
Somewhere off in Vale, with one last flare of emotion, Jaune screams and throws his Scroll onto the ground, breaking it. He collapses onto his hands and knees, crying.
Weiss: Jaune? Jaune!
Sky: I'll go after him, and make sure he's safe.
Sky then produces his Scroll out of his pocket as he begins typing on it.
Sky: if only I could track the signal of where the call came from.... I've got it! He's just a few clicks away from the evacuation center in Vale.
Ruby: But that's a long way. Will you make it?
Sky: I have my ways. You two will just have to make sure you get to Pyrrha and (Y/N) before it's too late.
Before he could leave, Weiss engulfs his bestfriend in a firm hug, earning a surprise from the boy, but he soon returned the gesture back. Weiss had to fight the urge of releasing her contained emotions for Sky, as she knew he already had someone. After a while, Sky broke the hug.
Weiss: B-Be safe, Sky.
Sky: You know I will.
With that said, Sky darted off into the distance as he activated his Semblance. Weiss nodded at Ruby, who returned the gesture, prepare to fight the Grimm around the school. Meanwhile, at the top of the tower, in Ozpin's office, a large amount of smoke flows out from the elevator, as you were thrown out of it, reverting back to your normal state, masking the entrance of Cinder Fall. She confidently strides to the window across the room, heading towards you, a smirk on her face.
Cinder: You may possess the power of one of the most powerful being in the world, but you don't have the strength or the skill.
You: You know nothing of what I can do yet.....
You struggle and strained yourself as you slowly stood up.
Cinder: How quaint....
Smiling devilishly, she summons a fireball in her hand and throws it at you. Caught off-guard, you quickly created an ice wall in front of you. It was enough to stop the fireball from coming at you, but the shield shattered upon impact, unknowingly pushing you out of the room as well and towards the Grimm Dragon that grabs you with its claws and flies away with you.
You: Get your claws off of me, you big ugly bastard!
Unfortunately, the claws were slowly digging its way through the fabric of your clothes toward your skin, but your Aura was faintly preventing from doing so. And to make matters worse as if luck is no longer at your side, a flock of Griffon came swarming around you.
You: You have got to be kidding me.....
Using your sword and an ounce of your power, you furiously freed yourself from the Grimm Dragon's clutches by slashing, and throwing ice shards at the claws up to the legs repeatedly. The Grimm Dragon screeches loudly, and loses its grip on you. You quickly turned into your snow form as you took flight toward the Dragon's back. When you turned back to your original form, you saw the Griffons encircling themselves in the air as they prepare to attack you. Encasing your body in thick ice as armor and summoning an ice sword to your free hand, you prepared yourself for the upcoming battle.
Back in the office, Cinder watches your fight with Grimm with a malicious look, until the sound of sparks distracts her, and she looks over her shoulder at the elevator. After a few moments, the sparks come to a stop, and immediately upon the elevator doors' opening, Pyrrha's spear flies toward Cinder, who casually leans to her right to dodge with a smirk on her face. The spear is soon followed by Pyrrha's shield, backed by Pyrrha herself, and Cinder puts her arms up, blocking it and pushing it away. While Cinder uses fire to hover in the air, Pyrrha calls her spear and shield back to her with polarity, staring down her opponent until Pyrrha started a heated battle against the current Fall Maiden.
Despite not having powers of her own, Pyrrha manages to hold her ground, until she launches herself toward Cinder and puts her arms around her, tackling her. The two turn each other in mid-air, fighting to be the one on top. Upon their landing, the room fills with a white cloud. When the dust settles, Pyrrha has Cinder in a choke hold, and Cinder is barely managing to hold Pyrrha's spear away from her neck. Cinder's eyes begin glowing as she applies heat to the spear in her hands. Her grip tightens as she heats the spear more and more, staring over her shoulder at Pyrrha.
As you cleared the last of the Griffons, your battered ice armor slowly dissipated as you collapsed in your knees out of exhaustion. As you noticed that the dragon was flying away, you summoned a thick rope made out of snow. You threw it as hard as you could around the Grimm's mouth, and caught the other end, making a makeshift reins.
You: We're going back, and you... will... OBEY!
Yanking the reins back, the Dragon screeched as it slowly made its way back. As the Grimm kept thrashing itself to remove the reins, you encased your arms in ice, giving you the necessary strength to deal with the struggle. With the Dragon being defiant as you would known, you zapped an icy bolt towards the Dragon's backside forcing it to fly faster towards the tower.
Upon hearing a loud screech, Cinder turns her gaze ahead and smirks, while Pyrrha gains a look of fear. While Pyrrha sets her focus on the Dragon that is flying towards the tower with you as its rider, Cinder finally snaps the spear's melted blade into pieces. You tried your best to redirect the Dragon's course, but the Dragon slams its wing into the roof of Ozpin's office, and you jumped off and land towards the office, letting exhaustion take toll on your body as you collapsed on the ground. Using the sudden opportunity Cinder elbows Pyrrha in the abdomen. The room fills with a green glow as the windows shatter and Pyrrha goes flying across the room. Giant cogs and debris come crashing down in the office, and the structure containing the CCT's transmitter falls to the ground outside, in pieces.
Pyrrha crawls toward her shield, while Cinder watches on from her position levitating off the floor with flame jetting from her feet. Cinder sees you lying down on the ground as you were slowly glowing to regenerate your energy back. Then, Cinder slowly makes her way towards you.
Cinder: I'll have to admit, you really aren't easy to get rid off, are you?
Too tired to even reply, you could only watch as Cinder slowly advances on you, ready to deliver the final fatal blow.
While looking for a way to distract Cinder, Pyrrha notices Ozpin's collapsed metal desk and uses her polarity to throw it at the corrupt Maiden, knocking her to the floor. She then quickly grabs her shield and rolls across the floor, sitting up on her knees and holding the shield up. With a burst of flame, Cinder throws the desk off of herself and levitates in the air.
Pyrrha rolls out of the way of two streams of fire that Cinder sends her way and attempts to block a third. However, the force of the third sends Pyrrha tumbling backward, and the floor momentarily catches fire while Pyrrha rolls to her feet. From behind the wall of flame, Pyrrha throws her shield at Cinder, who confidently backhands it away. She then looks up in surprise to see a multitude of giant cogs floating in the air around her.
Using her polarity, Pyrrha directs her shield to knock Cinder's feet from beneath her and then slams a cog down on Cinder's abdomen to pin her to the floor. She calls her shield back to her arm, then brings the cogs together into a pile on top of Cinder. Pyrrha was surprised when the cogs were slowly getting coated in hard ice, and turns to see you, who had a determined look in your face. You turned towards the red-haired spartan with a faint smile, which she was able to return. However, Cinder blasts the ice-cased cogs away with a powerful burst of fire, sending them in all directions. One of the cogs flies toward Pyrrha, who raises her shield to block, in vain. The force of the impact slams her into the remains of a wall, taking away the last of her Aura.
Another one flies towards you, and hits you straight in the stomach, sending you flying out of the office, Pyrrha helplessly watching you fall towards the ground.Pyrrha:
Meanwhile, As Sky roamed the ruined buildings and streets of Vale searching for Jaune, he was able to find him pacing near the locker he was placed in, with Dawn that was sheathed on Twilight leaning near the building near him. When Jaune caught sight of Sky, he picked up Sky's Katana and Sheath-Rifle, and instantly run to him.Jaune:
Sky! Please, please! Pyrrha and (Y/N) are in--Sky:
I know. But right now, your top priority is to reach the evacuation center.Jaune:
What?! Sky, no. Please!Sky:
I'm sorry, Jaune.
Taking his weapons back, he grabs him by the arm and starts dragging him towards the evacuation, much to Jaune's fear of Pyrrha dying. When they finally reached the evacuation center, Jaune released himself from Sky and went over to check the rest of his teammates. Sky saw the others had already arrive. Nora and Ren were being patched up, Claire and Yang were being loaded inside an Air bus, Tasha and Zella were leaning against each other as they rests themselves after holding the Grimm back out of the Evacuation center. Just then he notices that some people he should expect to be here are missing.Sky:
Sun, where's--- AAAAAHHH!!!
Before he could even ask Sun where Tealle and Blake were, he suddenly feels sudden jolt of electricity coursing through back nape, that eventually caused him to collapse on his knees. Sky getting stunned by the Atlas soldiers caught the attention of the students.Nora:
What the heck?!Tasha:
Wh-What's going on?! Zella:
Do you have any idea what you just did?!
Just before they could Sky, Atlas soldiers stopped them as a couple of more soldiers started surrounding the silver-haired boy, their rifles pointed against.Atlas Soldier:
Skylar Frostydia, you are under arrest for the endangerment of the Kingdom of Vale.Sun:
What?! But those robots were out of his control! There was nothing he could do about it!Atlas Soldier:
I am strictly following my orders. If you have concerns, speak to the High Council of Atlas.
At this, the students remained speechless. Until.....???:
Well then, why not speak to me?
They all turned to see a woman, who they instantly recognized as Sky's mother. Her authoritative aura being felt among them as she slowly makes her way towards her disoriented son. The students caught a sight of a little girl
fearfully hiding behind her mother's legs. She was wearing a collared, purple long-sleeved dress with a light purple scarf to match, along with white stockings and purple boots. When she caught sight of her helpless brother being surrounded by 'bad guys', she instantly run towards him.Seraphina:
S-Sera? Wha..... What are you... doing here?Liliana:
Release my son at once.Atlas Soldier:
B-But Mrs. Frostydia! He--Lilliana:
I know what he is being charged with, but I'd liked to discuss this matter back in Atlas. Now release him.Atlas Soldier:
O-Of course, ma'am. Stand down, men!
With the order given, the soldiers lowered their weapons, but they grabbed him by both of his shoulders and lead him towards one of the shuttles. The students watched as the some of the soldiers leave with the Frostydia Family, their shuttle slowly rising before speeding away in the sea.
On the ground below the CCT as Weiss and Ruby fight the Grimm off, Ruby watched in horror as she watches you fall.Ruby:
Focusing with all your might, and gathering the last of your Aura, you were able to turn into your snow form and safely land on the ground below, with Ruby and Weiss quickly making their way towards you. You:
Th-That was the last of my Aura......
Ruby and Weiss asked you what happened up there, and told them the situation about Pyrrha not doing well against Cinder. You:
You.... girls have to.... hurry.
Weiss looks around for a moment, before casting a series of glyphs up the side of the tower.
Weiss: You can do this.
Ruby: Will you be alright, (Y/N)?
You: Don't worry about me, Rubes. It takes more than a little fire to melt the ice down.
Before Ruby could leave, she kisses you fully on the lips, before running forward, then uses her Semblance to propel herself up to the first glyph. She then sprints up the wall, the glyphs propelling her forward and keeping her from falling off. While Weiss watches Ruby sprinting up the tower, you planned and decided sit down in a relaxed state and concentrate in regaining enough aura to use your snow form to carry you back up there. As soon as you concentrated, your body began glowing faintly with the color of you Aura. You:
Weiss: What are you doing?
You: I'm concentrating to regenerate my Aura back, only enough to get me back up there
Weiss: You can't risk going up there! You're just gonna get yourself hurt!
I'll be fine. Trust me, it'll take more than a horde of Griffons, and riding an over-sized one to take me down.Weiss:
I'm sorry, WHAT?!You
: Look, the point is: I'm wielding the power of one of the most powerful legendary beings in this world. I might as well live my title as the Keeper of the Winter Maiden's Power to protect this world from chaos as it is now. And that's what I'm gonna do.
Weiss was still reluctant to agree with your idea, but she decided to agree with you for once as she keeps the Grimm at bay, while you are busy regaining your Aura back. You
: Alright, that should be enough.
You stood up from where you had been sitting, now filled with energy once again. You:
You were about to make your up the tower until a blinding light shined up on the tower stopped you in your tracks, followed by a scream, which you were able to recognize. You: Ruby!!!
Fueled by your emotions, you crouched down to propel yourself up even faster and instantly turned into your snow form as you darted up towards the top. When you ran into the light, you instantly turned back into your normal form. After a while, the light finally fades, but for some reason, you felt pain coursing its way to every parts of your body. You looked around the demolished office, and saw Ruby laying unconsciously on the ground. You:
Your voice came out as a hoarse one as you literally limped your way towards your beloved girlfriend. You held her in your arms as you tried to wake her up. The sound of a woman groaning caught your attention, and saw Cinder, holding one of eye in pain, and beside her was a small glint of metal. Squinting your eyes for a closer look, you recognized it as one of the pieces of Pyrrha's weapon, as well as the shield and her circlet. You only knew one thing.....You:
Tears made their way out of your sockets as they landed down on Ruby's unconscious face. Power slowly radiating off of you, cold smoke wafting out of your clothes. you skin and hair flickering into your Maiden form. Constantly stricken by loss, you remember of Penny's friendly smile every time you'd meet, your uncle's wisdom, and Pyrrha's kindness. Cinder slowly backed away in fear and horror as she literally felt the anger and despair slowly building up inside you, ready to be unleashed any second, clouds of snowstorm circling above them. Just then, Mercury and Emerald arrived to take Cinder out of there. Just as they left, you let out a loud scream, unleashing a powerful storm throughout the kingdom.
Meanwhile back in the Evacuation center, your father arrives to meet up with the rest of his fellow Huntsmen and Huntress.Glynda:
(D/N)! Thank goodness you're safe.(D/N):
Has anyone seen---
He was cut off short when a strong sudden gust nearly whisks them away. They all turned to where it was coming from, and saw the snowstorm back on top CCT tower. Your father stared in horror and shock as he knew what you were doing.(D/N)
With the help of his Semblance, your father rushes off to find you with Qrow accompanying him. Flashes and streaks of light darted around you as you felt changes all over your body, but having used up every power that was contained within your body, you were too tired to care as you lost consciousness next to Ruby.------Timeskip------
As you opened your eyes, you struggled to sit up with a groan, and you were greeted at the sight of your stepmother
resting her head beside you.You:
Oh, (Y/N)! You're awake!
Unfortunately, the commotion was enough to wake Ruby up as well, who was sleeping in a bed next to yours.Ruby:
Ugh.... What happened?
(D/N) and your uncle Qrow found you both, unconscious. They got you outta there; they brought you both safe.
Ruby looks down in thought for a split second, then looks at her father.
Wait! Yang! Is she alright?
Uh.... She's uh... she's gonna be alright. I think she's just... I think it's just gonna take some time for her to get used to things. She's too strong to let this stop her. Unlike her friend, she's doing pretty well
Yes. When they brought Yang here, they brought a girl with her. What was her name again? Claire? Yeah, that's it. Claire Claret, she said. You:
What happened to the school? And Vale?! Were they able to clear out the Grimm?
Taiyang: Things at Vale are not exactly doing pretty well. For some reason, a massive snowstorm was unleashed in Vale. On the bad side, Vale became a frozen wasteland, but on the good side, Grimm don't really have resistance to the cold.
You: Even the large one?
He knew what you meant when you said 'large one'.
Taiyang: That thing, whatever it is... Doesn't seem to be dead or alive. Don't get me wrong, Ruby did a number on it. But it's not disappearing. It's... kind of... frozen.
You: Frozen? Like stuck in ice?
Stepmother: Not exactly, darling. Let's just say it's similar to being petrified.
Ruby: So it turned to stone? Or something....?
Stepmother: Something like that.
Ruby: Wait. Dad, you said I did a number on it? What do you mean?
Taiyang: I... Look that's not important right now. We can talk about it later. Things are just... kind of a mess.
Qrow: It's always a mess.
You, your stepmother, Ruby and Taiyang, look to see Qrow and your father suddenly standing in the room near the door. Qrow finishes off the contents of his flask before your father continued what Qrow was about to say.
(D/N): Tai, Leah, mind if we have a minute?
Taiyang: What, I can't stay here?!
Qrow: Tai. Please.
Taiyang stands up, sighs, and then leans in to kiss Ruby on the forehead.
Taiyang: I'm glad you're alright
Stepmother: I'll go and make us some tea.
Taiyang glares at Qrow on the way out, but the latter doesn't appear to care, while your mother kisses you father on the cheek and leaves as well. You were about to get up from your bed, but your father pressed you back down. As Qrow approaches Ruby's bed, he grabs the chair and drags it with him. He then spins it around to face the bed and sits in it with a significant slouch, crossing one leg over the other.
Qrow: So, how you feeling?
Ruby: Um... I kind of hurt... all over.
Qrow: (Chuckles) That makes sense, after what you did.
Ruby: You guys keep saying that! That I did something! What are you talking about?!
You: What was the last thing you remember, Ruby?
Ruby: I ran up the side of the tower, and when I got to the top, I...
She then suddenly gasps, sadness in clearly visible in her eyes
Ruby: Pyrrha! Is she...?
You looked down in depression as you still can't believe what had happened.
You: She's..... She's gone Ruby.
As you said this, tears began to fill in Ruby's eyes
Ruby: I... I... I got to the top... and I saw Pyrrha... and Cinder.... and then everything went white!
Qrow: Anything else?
Ruby: I remember... my head hurting.
She turns towards you and is surprised of what she saw in you.Ruby:
(Y/N)! Your hair! it's white! Your eyes turned blue! And why are you so pale?!You:
You looked at her in confusion, before you lifted you hands up and saw that they were pale white. You father gave you a mirror from the nightstand and saw that Ruby was right. You pinched over at the new hair color, and deeply stared at the icy blue irises of your eyes.
Qrow: The night you met Ozpin, what was the first thing he said to you?Ruby
: I... I don't know. You:
He did say something about---Qrow
: Silver eyes. That's an extremely rare trait. And I'm not talking to you Ice pop.(D/N): Qrow.
Go easy on him. He's already been through a lot for more than one occasion. More importantly, it was his birthday yesterday.
Ruby looks at you in surprise.Ruby:
Your birthday was yesterday?!You:
Worst one I've ever had......
You tried to fight the tears back that was threatening to escape from your sockets. You couldn't care less for your birthday. It was supposed to be a special day, and yet it turned out to be the worst. Countless innocent people dying, losing Beacon, Vale, your uncle, Penny.... Pyrrha..... It was all too much, making you clutch your hair in anger.Qrow:
As I was saying, you're special, Ruby. And not in the "Daddy loves his special angel"
kind of way. You're special the same way your mom was. Remnant's full of legends and stories, some of them true, some made up. But there's one Oz told me from a very long time ago. Back before Hunstmen, before Kingdoms, it was said that those born with silver eyes were destined to lead the life of a warrior. You see, the creatures of Grimm, the most fearsome monsters mankind had ever encountered, were afraid of those silver-eyed warriors. They were the best of the best. It was said that even a single look from one of these fighters could strike a Grimm down. Heh. It's a ridiculous story.
Ruby: But... you think that I might be...
Qrow: (Chuckles) Well, a giant monster is currently frozen on top of Beacon Tower. And you're here, safe in bed.(D/N):
Then again, you somehow believed the Maidens actually existed. Back then, you and your sister were much of a skeptical type.Qrow:
Well, that's because one them actually nearly froze me to death upon first introductions, before someone
literally "charmed" her. And it nearly happened again with this guy.
He says while pointing at you. He gets to his feet and walks over to a window, leaning on the sill and staring outside. While Qrow says he had been investigating the enemy under Ozpin's direction, you're father decided to have a quiet chat with you.(D/N):
Looks like your bond with the Winter Maiden's powers are getting stronger, son. Which is, to say the least, the sign of your white hair, blue eyes, and pale skin. I'd figured you'd find out about it eventually, because you looked exactly
like your mother. You:
So, I can't really hide myself being the so-called Keeper anymore, huh?(D/N):
Maybe. But... there is
one way you can hide yourself from the world. But you have to prepare yourself for it....
He was just about to turn to leave until....(D/N)
Oh, right. Before I forgot. Listen (Y/N), you may have fully unlocked the Maiden' power within you, but it comes with a price. Remember of what Qrow about people having Silver Eyes? Not only the Grimm are fearful of it, but Maidens too. Being it is only their source of weakness. I bet you're already feeling it, are you?
Your father was right. Ever since last night, ever since you touched the light that was coming Ruby's Silver Eyes, you've experiencing a whole load of pain and ache all over your body.(D/N):
I'd suggest you keep it a secret from Ruby. Otherwise, it would care scare her away in fear of hurting. You wouldn't want that, no?
With those words you decided to think about it as your father left the room.
Ruby: And what could I do? If I'm so special, then I can help, right?
Qrow: You really wanna help? Get some rest. You and your boyfriend are in no condition to go anywhere right now. Besides, our enemy's trail leads all the way to Haven. That'd be quite a trip for a pipsqueak like you. Catch ya later, kiddo.
Ruby sits alone for a while. She looks at the window that Qrow looked out of, then stares at herself in a mirror hanging on the wall across from her bed. After a long silence, you nervously asked Ruby if she wants to visit Yang and the others and nodded at your idea.
Meanwhile, Yang sits alone in a spare bedroom, staring out a window. Her remaining piece of her gauntlet rests on the nightstand next to the bed. Ruby stands in the doorway, with you beside her. Unfortunately, your body hadn't fully recovered yet from what Ruby had unintentionally done, supporting yourself with a pair of crutches made of ice. Tasha is in the room with her. When she saw you and Ruby, she gave you a sad greeting. She whispers something to Yang before she walks towards you.
Tasha: She's been like that since she got here. Just... try not to say something that might offend her?
With those parting words, she decides to leave the room.
You and Ruby waited for a moment, but when she receives no response from Yang, you both turned to leave. Until...
Yang: Ruby. (Y/N).
Ruby turns back around, and Yang turns her head to look at her younger sister, tears now in her eyes. Ruby runs over and hugs her, while you just stood near the door and decided to give them some space.
Ruby: I'm so glad you're okay!
Yang: But I'm not.
Ruby frowns and releases the hug.
Yang: It's all gone - the school, Penny, Pyrrha, and...
She then looks down at her severed arm.
Ruby: Yang, where are Weiss and Blake?
Yang: Weiss' father... came for her.
Ruby: What? What do you mean?
Yang: No one outside of Vale knows what happened here. Before the tower fell, the last thing people saw was Sky's robots attacking innocent people and Grimm destroying the city. Everyone's scared. No one knows who to trust. So, Weiss' father came to take her back to Atlas, where he thinks it's safe. She's gone. Even worse, Sky is blamed from what has happened to his robots attacking innocents, since almost all of them were his makings and no one believes he is innocent, or even tried to stop them himself. As a result, he's now being placed under house arrest. I've heard Sky's mother was so furious about her sons's current status, that if their Council tries to make a bad name out of his son, she threatened them to remove every single piece of arsenal and weaponry they've made off of Atlas. They all complied of course, since almost all of their weapons were designed by Sky.
Ruby: Well, what about-
Yang: And Blake ran! Sun saw her go. After we got to the city, she just... ran! Tealle, being the faithful companion to her as she was, followed her afterwards.
Ruby: But... why!?
Yang: I don't know... and I don't care.
You: Look, there has to be a reason they-
Yang: No, there doesn't! Sometimes bad things just happen, (Y/N)! I mean, you'd know since you had probably the worst birthday.
At this point, you've just have had it, and decided to keep your mouth shut for the rest of the entire conversation.
Ruby: So, what do we do now?
Yang: You and (Y/N) can do whatever you want. I'm gonna lie here.
Yang: Just leave me alone.
Ruby slowly leaves the room, with you slowly following beside her, but she pauses in the doorway, looking over her shoulder to say one last thing.
Ruby: I love you.
After visiting Yang both decided to visit Claire as well. Unlike Yang, Claire seems to be alright, aside from the fact that her left arm was covered in bandages and a splint supporting it. Zella was in the room with her. When she saw you, she ran over to you and gave you a hug, which you weakly returned, happy that you're doing okay. Zella broke the hug and gives you and Ruby one last smile before she leaves. Claire warmly greets you with wave and reveals that she already knows what happened.
Ruby: What happened to your...?
Claire: What? Oh, this? Just a couple of broken elbow joint and bones, and some severely damaged nerve cells. It would probably take me months to recover, but ah well no biggie. I have no plans of clawing some bad guys' face anyway.
She brushes it off with a small laugh, then turns sad for a moment as she sat down on her bed.
Claire: So, I guess you guys have talked to Yang about now. Yeah, she won't talk to me either....
You: What do you think we should do now?
Claire: I don't know. But your dad came over a while ago and told us about a trip to Mistral and tells us to rest.
Ruby: Can we help you in anyway?
Claire: Well, there is one way: You can let me rest. I was thinking of maybe laying things down for a while and unwind in Vacuo.
You: You sure?
Claire: Don't worry, Cap. I can still handle myself pretty well.
You: Okay then. We'll let you have your rest.
Claire: Thanks, Cap.
With that, you left Claire alone in her room as she thinks to herself unhappily.
Claire: (In head) If only I could say the same to your sister, Ruby.
After talking to Claire, Ruby went off to her room while you went off outside to breathe in some fresh air. Sitting down on the porch, your sisters suddenly joined you in your peaceful relaxing, and sighed sadly to yourself.
You: Is this world even worth saving?
Tasha: What are you talking about?
You: I mean, what's the use of having a powerful a Semblance if you can't even protect the ones you hold dear? It's useless. I'm useless.
Zella: Stop talking nonsense, (Y/N)! You're not useless! Okay?
She says as she and Tasha began hugging you in comfort from both of our sides. Letting your emotions flow out within you, you began sobbing on Zella's shoulder. They both din't let you go until you finished crying. After a while, you began to calm down and wiped the tears away that were still in your eyes.
You: Thanks for the pep talk.I really needed that. I.... I wasn't thinking straight.
Tasha: Don't sweat it, little brother. We're here for you.
You smiled at their words as you both hugged them, which they returned with a firmer one, squeezing out the life out of you. Tasha and Zella giggled as you wriggled your way out of their death embrace.
You: So, what's going to happen to you two now?
Tasha: Zel and I will head back to Shade to continue our school. Claire says she'll be coming along to Vacuo to have a proper rest there until her arms heals.
You: What about mom?
Zella: Mom will stick around until dad leaves again. And while we're gone, don't do something we wouldn't do.
You: (Laughs) You'd be surprised.
Tasha: Then we'd better not be. Love the way you did with your hair, by the way. Matches your new eyes.
And with those words, your sisters left you in your peace. You till felt uncomfortable with the new changes in your body, but only time will tell until you'll get used to it. You closed your eyes as you breathed in the cold air. Winter was just around the bend, and with the Winter Season around, you'd be able to recover much quicker, since you're strongly affiliated with the particular season. You were about to head back inside, when.....
???: You've gone weak. Let me help you.
You whipped your head back, trying to find where the voice is coming from until you heard it was coming from your head.
???: Fear not. 'Tis I, your mother. My beloved son.
Your eyes widened as you saw a woman, wearing a long, white dress. Her pure, white hair shining in the sunlight, her skin as white as freshly fallen snow of Winter, her fierce ice blue that contained a magnificent radiance within them. This was no doubt the Winter Maiden: Your mother.
The woman smiles at you and nods. She then frowns as she speaks in your mind.
Isolde: You seem weak, my child. Let me help you.
Without speaking, she turns with her hand raised summoning an orb of magic before throwing it down to the ground, summoning a swirly portal, hich you presumed it leads to another world.
Isolde: Seeing as you have embraced my powers to the fullest, I can help you recover even faster. I can teach you the secrets of its might, if you come with me.
You were shocked by this, you were finally given the chance to have a proper time with your biological mother. But then you remembered everyone else in the current world, your father, your stepsisters and stepmother your friends. Ruby, most of all. Shaking your head to clear out negative thoughts, you decided to speak.
You: I... I'll think about it.
Your mother looks slightly displeased at your answer, but decides to comply and speaks into your head again.
Isolde: Very well. I'll give you time to decide until the first snow has fallen. By then, I shall have your answer.
With that, she walks into her portal, disappearing from sight along with the portal.
Winter had come around quickly than you had expected. Nothing much had happened during your time in Patch, except for the fact that Tasha and Zella left for Shade to start their new semester, with Claire joining them. You bid them the best of lucks as you watch them leave in shuttle that would take them to Vacuo. Your father has already left to carry out what his brother had started. Ever since then you've been doing your best to enhance your powers until the day has come for you to decide. As if on time, your mother the Winter Maiden appeared in one of her portals.
Isolde: Have you finally decided?
You faced your mother with a determined look as you gave her your answer. Meanwhile, Ruby steps outside the house, wearing a backpack, and quietly shuts the front door.
Ruby: Hey, Jaune. Haven's a long way to go.
Jaune: I know. It's the only way we have.
Ruby: Are you sure you want to come along?
Ren: The journey will be perilous, and whether we'll find answers at the end is entirely uncertain.
Nora: But we wouldn't be here if we weren't up for it.
Ruby looks back towards the house with a sad look before she sighs.
Ruby: I really wish (Y/N) could come....
Jaune: I don't really blame him. He's been suffering a lot from the rest of us....
The four then begin their long trek, down the road leading away from Taiyang's home. Jaune took out the map from the side of backpack as he begins planning their route.
Jaune: Right, so if we're going to take the small route here, we'll be able to catch the next shutt---
He was interrupted when a snowball suddenly hits him straight on his face. Nora snorted as she giggled slightly, while Ren and Ruby tried to search where the snowball came from. A few seconds have passed, and a swirl of snow suddenly forms before the group, and you emerged out of it.
You: Leaving without saying goodbye? So cliched, yet attractively unusual of you, Rubes. As always.
Ruby suddenly rushed up to you and glomped you to the ground with a fierce hug, the others watched on with interest.
You: So... cliched....
Ruby says nothings as she snuggles at the crook of your neck. After a few moments, you both got up, and dusted yourselves off.
Ren: So you're joining us?
You: I'd love to, guys. But.....
You averted your eyes off the group and looked at the woman far behind them, who nods at you.
You: But there's something I've got to do first.
Ruby pouts as she looks down into the ground.
Ruby: But it's no fun without.
Altough you found this act quite adorable of her, you fought the urge of not falling into her cuteness and just patted her in the head.
You: Don't worry, I'll just catch up with you guys. But for now....
You touched the center of Ruby's neckline, creating a small necklace around her neck that was a bit cold to the touch. Ruby gazed at it wonder.
You: This will have to do, okay?
Ruby said nothing as she suddenly engulfs in another tight hug, which you returned seconds after.
You: Shouldn't you get going?
Ruby's eyes widen in shock as she suddenly remembers and separates herself from you.
Ruby: Oh, right! Well, wish as luck, (Y/N).
You: Heh, you won't need it. Because you have that.
You said to them as you pointed at the necklace Ruby had. With that Ruby and others waves you goodbye. You waved back and watched them as they disappeared into the distance. You mother then suddenly appears beside you.
Isolde: A Silver-Eyed Warrior, you'd better watch yourself out for this one, my son. Then again, who am I to befoul my son's romance.
At that mention, you instantly facepalmed as your mother slightly giggled.
Isolde: Well then, should we get going?
You: R-Ready as I'll ever be...
Isolde: Don't worry, we won't be alone.
You: Wh-What do you mean?
Isolde: Why we'll be accompanied by the other Winter Maidens before me!
You: Great.... I'll be training with my mother with no one to talk to, but girls. Go figure.
Isolde: Oh, hush you.
Your mother silenced you as she summoned one of her portals before you.
Isolde: After you, my dear.
Gulping down your nervousness, you slowly stepped inside the portal. You were satisfied with your decision. With this you will be able to protect the ones you hold dear, and do your duties as the Keeper of the Winter Maiden's power.
You: Don't worry, Ruby. I'll be back. Better than ever.
Inside the Frostydian Family Mansion, a little girl with silver hair is seen skipping through the hall, carrying a sketchpad, humming a song, highly similar to its singer. Entering her brother's study room, she heads over to the bookshelves, and presses a specific mechanism. Then, the bookshelves starts tucking themselves in, and slides separately, showing a brightly lit pathway made of pure white tiles. She then begins skipping her way though the path, until she finally sees a large door guarded by several heavily armed Atlas soldiers.
When they saw the little girl coming, they stepped aside from the door. With the sliding doors being locked from the inside, she trots over to the intercom and presses the button that lets her talk.
Seraphina: Big brother? Can I come in?
After a few seconds, the doors slide open for little Seraphina to walk through. When she finally got in, the doors slide close behind. She starts looking for her brother around his spacious laboratory. Her eyes then landed on her brother, Skylar Frostydia, rummaging through one of his cabinets, trying to find a specific project paper. Just as Sera was about to sprint her toward her brother, she steps on a piece of paper. She looks down and decides to pick it up. She tries to make out what the paper was but she was still too young to understand. She just shrugs as she sprints towards her brother.
Surprised, Sky turns just in time to catch his beloved little sister, who just jumped on him.
Sky: So, what are you doing down here, Sera? I thought you were playing with Tori?
Seraphina: Tori went to sleep. Mama's busy, and I want to see you. Mama told me to give you a gift. Because you're so good at drawing, I decided to give you a sketchpad to draw on, so you won't be bored.
Sky thanked her little sister by poking her on the nose, earning him a giggle. He took the sketchpad from her, and something caught his eye. On one of Seraphina's hand was a long bond paper.
Sky: What's that you got there, Sera?
Seraphina: Hmm? Oh, I found it on the ground, and decided to give it to you.
Sky takes the paper and his eyes widens in surprise as he recognizes the paper, this paper was the project Sky was looking for.
Sky: I've been looking for this for ages! Thanks, Sera! Now why don't you go play with Aspen, while I draw you something good?
Seraphina: Okay! Come here, Aspen! (giggles)
While Seraphina was playing with Sky's dog, Sky examines the paper thoroughly before he sighs hopelessly.
Sky: It took me sheer luck to complete that core. Containing Aura was no easy task. Now to make that comic for Sera.
Sky sets the Project paper down on his desk as he sits down and begins sketching a comic about what his and his friends' life could have been if they stopped the villains, while adding his own taste of humor. Needless to say, it became a new hobby for him out of enjoyment.
